Abstract: Flood risk map is a vital scientific basis for flood risk management as it reflects the flood features, geographic elements and socio-economic information in the submerged area comprehensively and directly. To strengthen the safety construction planning of Nanli river area, a hydrodynamic model coupling 1D and 2D models of the river channel and both banks of Nan liriver is established by using MIKE software. The model test result is verified by historical flood data in August of 1996 in the Haihe river basin. The coupled model is used to simulate the flood routine process for 100-year event flood. Results validate that the established model could be used as a basis for flood risk analysis of Nanli river, and provide reference for the safety construction around the Nanli river.
