Brief Introduction to the Journal of Yangtze River Scientific Research Institute
Description:
The “Journal of Yangtze River Scientific Research Institute” or “Journal of Changjiang River Scientific Research Institute” (ISSN 1001-5485, CN 42-1171/TV) was founded in 1984. It is a peer-reviewed academic journal in water conservancy applied science. It is an open access journal monthly published in Chinese. It is hosted by the Changjiang River Scientific Research Institute (CRSRI) under the supervision of the Changjiang Water Resources Commission of the Ministry of Water Resources. Originally named “Journal of Yangtze Water Conservancy & Hydroelectric Power Institute”, the title changed to “Journal of Yangtze River Scientific Research Institute” after the institute was renamed in 1987, and “Journal of Changjiang River Scientific Research Institute” as an alternative when the institute determined its English name as CRSRI.
The Journal of Yangtze River Scientific Research Institute is indexed by the National Chinese Core Journals (Peking University), China Science and Technology Core Journals (ISTIC), China Science Citation Database (CSCD) Core Journals, RCCSE Chinese Core Academic Journals, WJCI World Journal Impact Report, CSTA (English version), JST Japan Science and Technology Agency Database, among others.
The Journal has won many national and provincial awards, including the National Excellent Journal of the Water Resources System, the Excellent Journal of Hubei Province, Top Ten Most Influential Natural Science Journals in Hubei Province, among others, and has received fund from the “Excellent Action Plan” of Hubei Province Science and Technology Journals.
Aims and Scopes:
The purpose of the journal is to develop water science, expand scientific and technological exchanges, promote the transformation of scientific research achievements, and serve the water conservancy and hydropower industry in the Changjiang (also known as Yangtze) River Basin (CRB). The journal adheres to the policy of serving economic construction, and to a scientific attitude of seeking truth from fact.
The main contents include academic papers, thematic reviews and other publications featuring water science, which reflect the development, utilization, and protection of water resources in the CRB. The journal also displays research achievements of major national projects related to issues such as water resources and environment in the CRB, soil and water conservation and ecological construction, flood control and disaster reduction. Most of the papers published are from researches on large and medium-sized water conservancy and hydropower projects in the CRB, such as the Three Gorges, the Gezhouba, the Gaheyan and Shuibuya Projects on Qingjiang River, the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, the important levee projects along the Changjiang River, and also on resources, environment, ecology, and water-related disasters in the CRB.
The Journal is characterized by a close combination of theoretical research and practical engineering, with a wide range of specialties in water conservancy and strong practicality.
