Abstract: The 3-D flow fields of high-head spillway tunnel with its inlet raised was numerically simulated using VOF method to track the free surface based on RNG k-ε turbulence model. The numerical model was verified by the results of large-scale model test. The computational result and experiment result agreed well. Two modification proposals for aeration facilities were presented. The result demonstrates that the modified aeration facilities could effectively avoid the cavitation damage in the downstream anti-arch section, and this turbulence flow model could well simulate the 3-D flow field.
