Abstract:

Accelerated industrialization and frequent human activities gave rise to environmental problems among which UV-B radiation caused by ozone destruction is increasing. In the present paper, the current status of increased UV-B radiation is introduced, and researches in China and abroad on the impact of UV-B radiation on plant’s ecophysiological characteristics are reviewed. Moreover, responses of plants to the increasing UV-B radiation are summarized, and the shortcomings of previous research and the focuses of future research are presented.

Key words: ultraviolet radiation, UV-B radiation, plant’s ecophysiology characteristics, ozone sphere, stress
