Application of Novel Polyurea Crack Repair Material to the Spillway of Xiluodu Hydropower Station

Abstract: Affected by high-speed flow and specific weather conditions, the concrete’s overflow surface of Xiluodu hydropower station spillway is subjected to abrasion, cavitation and carbonization. Resistant material was coated on the concrete surface. But along with the deformation of concrete’s structural joint caused by temperature changes, the coating material is prone to be damaged which results in protection failure. In order to solve the problems, a novel polyurea crack repair material CW680 was used to prevent the leakage, abrasion, cavitation and carbonization of structural joint. Application test in 8 months has proved good effect. This new material has excellent adhesive and repairing ability, and has good impervious performance and durability.
