Abstract: To investigate the influence of strong wind on the water transfer process of Jinshan lake, we employed the RMA2 two-dimensional hydrodynamic model of Surface-water Modeling System (SMS) to simulate the hydrodynamic characteristic of water transfer under the action of wind (southeast direction,45°) of scale 8 and compared it with that in the absence of wind action. Results show that when there is strong wind, water level increases obviously in the water injection process, but the phenomenon is weak in the water exchange process; flow direction is not much affected by the strong wind, but the trend of water flowing along the bank intensifies and the eddy flow in the west part of the lake is more apparent in the water injection process; wind increases the flow velocity of the lake, and the increment is more obvious in the inflow section and outflow section than in the main area of the lake. The research result is a basis for the joint dispatching of multiple stations of Jinshan Lake.
