Abstract: Based on latest achievements in the calculation method of computational hydraulics, a vertical 2-D hydrodynamic model  under hydrodynamic pressure is employed to calculate the change of water movement along the depth direction in facade. In this model, the Navier-Stokes equation of Boussinesq-assumed incompressible Newtonian fluid is used as governing equations, and the σ coordinate transformation is conducted to simplify the calculation domain. Moreover, the governing equation is discretized through finite difference method, and the free surface flows are solved through surface function method in rectangular staggered meshes. The speed of entry and the hydrodynamic pressure are solved in the staggered mesh system through step-by-step solution. The model is used to simulate micro-amplitude wave motion, and the results are compared with theoretical values. The comparison shows that this vertical 2-D hydrodynamic model is of good precision.
