Abstract: To investigate the dynamic characteristics of composite cement slag ash, we analyzed the effect of strain, confining pressure, and replacement ratio on the dynamic elastic modulus through  Ed - ε  curves obtained from dynamic triaxial tests. It was concluded that dynamic elastic modulus was degressive along with the increase of strain; when strain remained unchanged and the confining  pressure increased, the dynamic elastic modulus of the composite cement slag ash soil was larger; when strain remained unchanged and replacement ratio increased, the overall strength of the soil sample was improved. This research could provide scientific basis for aseismic design when the composite cement slag ash is used as grouting material for soil reinforcement.

Key words: dynamic triaxial, cement slag ash, replacement ratio, aseismic design
