Abstract: Conventional methods of detecting the quality of cement mixing piles are time-consuming, high-costing and complicated; while EDTA titration has been widely used in the cement content detection for road engineering with its rapid detection and low cost. We have successfully applied EDTA titration to the cement content detection for mixing piles by analyzing the effect of age and curing condition on the detection result and by developing a new sampling device for pile core. Its application to Yanglin shiplock project showed that cement dosage and mixing uniformity in depth of the mixing pile can be detected effectively with this method. Mixing uniformity as an assessment index of pile quality could reflect the construction quality of piles directly and timely.
