Abstract: Schistosomiasis is a severe infectious disease in the middle and lower reaches of Yangtze River. It greatly threatens human health and hinders the development of social economy. Effective prevention and control measures must be taken to control the spread of schistosomiasis. Water conservancy combined with schistosomiasis prevention has been an important part of a comprehensive prevention and control work. In this article, the comprehensive river management technologies for schistosomiasis prevention are introduced, and five applications of those technologies in the middle and lower reaches of Yangtze River are enumerated. Furthermore, the advantages and disadvantages of those technologies are analyzed and the effects of the projects are evaluated. This research provides reference for the schistosomiasis control and the improvement of people’s living environment in the infected area.
