Abstract: In this paper,the joint energy dissipation mechanism of stilling basin and denta l kafflepier is analysed according to additional momentum hydraulic jump theo ry.The economic benifits of newly additional energy dissipation facilities are e stimated in terms of the decreased percentage of the conjugate depth of hydraul i c jump and length of jump or the volume of hydraulic jump per unit width.The the oretical analysis is verified by model test. Uning the experimental data,the dec r eased percentages of conjugate depth,length of hydraulic jump or unit width hydr a ulic jump volume with the increased dissipated energy facilities are calculated. It is concl uded that dental bafflepier can increase energy dissipation rate of stilling b a sin and decrease engineering cost.The obvious economic benefits and the expected effect of additional momentum hydraulic jump theory are achieved.
