Abstract: Abstract The features of the Shuibuya Project's bank spillway are high head,large discharge and bad geological conditions in the downstream dissipation area.Hydraulic model tests on three dissipation schemes were conducted.The test results show that the values of hydraulic parameters of the third schemes,such as velocities,flow patterns and water surface slopes in the approach channel,the condition of the discharge capacity and downstream erosion,can basically satisfy the requirement of design,so it is recommended.Some problems still needed to be studied are pointed out .
