By analyzing the results of S.A Ead and N.Rajaratnam’s test(2002)on velocity, boundary layer thickness and integrated bed shear stress on corrugated beds of stilling basin, we researched the velocity distribution in cross section of corrugated beds of stilling basin and the variation of maximum velocity along the way. We also researched the development of boundary layer and the variation of shear force coefficient based on boundary layer theory. As a result, the velocity distribution of corrugated beds of stilling basin is similar and partitioned. Velocity profile is divided as boundary layer region and mixed layer region which is bounded by maximum velocity. Velocity increases gradually along vertical line in boundary layer region while decreases gradually in mixed layer region.Meanwhile, the maximum velocity decays along the way in stilling basin. Boundary layer thickness of corrugated bed is much larger than that of smooth bed, so is the wall resistance coefficient. The calculation formulas of velocity distribution in cross section and maximum velocity along the way are proposed, and the calculation method for boundary layer thickness and wall resistance coefficient of corrugated beds of stilling basin are put forward. Correctness of the formulas is checked through the test results of S.A.Ead and N.Rajaratnam(2002).
