Abstract: With the launch of the ZY-1 02C satellite, quantitative evaluation of ZY-1 02C remote sensing imagery is required. The full-color multispectral remote sensing imagery of ZY-1 02C P/MS Sensors was evaluated and was compared with that of the ETM+ imagery of Landsat 7 in terms of waveband, correlation coefficient, and spectral resolution. Imagery captured by ZY-1 02C P/MS Sensors, together with supporting vector machine and neural network algorithm was used to extract water body information. It was found that the imagery quality of ZY-1 02C satellite was superior to that of ETM + imagery in aspects of grey value distribution range, information amount, independence of wavebands, and the ability of extracting different landform information. The ZY-1 02C remote sensing imagery has great prospect of application in water conservancy industry.
