Abstract: In the aim of providing theoretical and technical support for the quality and safety of rubberized concrete in engineering application, tests were conducted to investigate the adhesive splitting tensile strength of rubberized concrete bonded with ordinary concrete (RC-OC). The influences of rubber particle size, rubber particle dosage, composite modification and interfacial agent on the adhesive splitting tensile strength of RC-OC were examined. Two different particle sizes of rubber, five different dosages of rubber, and its composite modified rubberized concrete were prepared as new concrete to be poured on ordinary concrete bonded with three different interfacial agents. Results show that the effect of rubber particle size on the adhesive splitting tensile strength of RC-OC varied with the interfacial agent. With the increase of rubber particle dosage, the adhesive splitting tensile strength of RC-OC increased first and then decreased, and reached the maximum at a given dosage of rubber particle. The adhesive splitting tensile strength of both rubberized concrete and ordinary concrete were smaller than that of RC-OC as a whole. Cement paste interfacial agent had remarkable impact on the adhesive splitting tensile strength of both rubberized concrete and ordinary concrete rather than on RC-OC as a whole.Among the three interfacial agents, epoxy interfacial agent could give rise to a largest adhesive splitting tensile strength.Modification on rubber particle size could also enhance the adhesive splitting tensile strength. In summary, modified epoxy interfacial agent has better bonding effect, and could significantly improve the adhesive splitting tensile strength between rubber concrete and ordinary concrete.
