Abstract: The forming procedures of asphalt concrete are complex. The experimental results are obviously influenced by several factors, such as ambient temperature, forming techniques and demoulding measures. This paper focuses on the experimental factors affecting the modulus K of asphalt concrete. The results are as follows: the forming techniques, ambient temperature and asphalt content have great effects on modulus K respectively. The modulus Kof asphalt concrete core sample is close to that of asphalt concrete formed through compaction, but is very different from that of asphalt concrete formed through static-load. With the ambient temperature increase, the viscosity of asphalt concrete decreases, its flowability increases and the cohesive force between mineral aggregates abates, consequently, the modulus Kof asphalt concrete decreases.
