Abstract: Based on regional planning of the Chinese mountain torrent disasters prevention, this paper analyzes the characters of rainstorm, geological and topographical conditions, the development of economy and society eff ected by mountain torrents disaster, the types and quantities of mountain torrent disasters and the characteristics in different prevention regions, and then, p roposes countermeasures of torrents disaster prevention in different regions. Ac cording to the realities of the country, mountain torrent disasters prevention s hould rely mainly on non-structural measures and additionally on structural measures.
