Abstract: The information and characteristics of nuclear power plants which are either built, under construction, or planned to be built are presented, and the corresponding geotechnical engineering techniques, inclusive of geological survey, geotechnical foundation, tunnel and slope construction, cement grouting, anchoring and monitoring are presented. It’s shown that nuclear power has been widely acknowledged in the world as it is safe, clean, economical, and longlasting. China has experienced a boom of nuclear power plant construction with its technology gradually keeping up with that of advanced countries. Nuclear power plant construction in China involves comprehensive efforts including geotechnical engineering survey, construction, monitoring, and grouting reinforcement, and attaches great importance on environmental protection.
