MCFT-based Analysis on the Shear Resistance of Simply-supported Beams Reinforced with Cementitious Composites of Ultra-high Toughness

Abstract: MCFT (modified compression field theory) was applied to analyse the shear resistance of ultra-high toughness cementitious composite (UHTCC) beam. A program based on the section analysis model for reinforced UHTCC beam under bending and shearing action was established to predict the shear capacity of simply-supported UHTCC beams. Besides, loading test was conducted on the beam specimens, and the measured test results were compared with the theoretical results calculated by this program. The results were consistent, indicating that MCFT could well analyse the shear resistance of UHTCC beams. Further analysis shows that the reinforcement stirrups could generally reach yield state and are capable of bearing the stress between cracks. The calculation results based on MCFT could reflect the real forces on the reinforcement stirrups.
