Abstract: In this paper, the construction and excavation process of underground plant of the Shuibuya Project are simulated by 3D elastoplastic FEM. The excavating deformation pattern and stress state of the chamber group surrounding rock under complex geological conditions are researched .The distribution of plastic areas and stability of surrounding rock is analysed. Finally some suggestions for design and construction are given.
