Abstract: Based on the Tugutang navigation-power junction project on Xiangjiang river, we analyzed and compared two layout schemes in terms of flow discharge capacity, shiplock and ship navigation conditions, etc. by means of data analysis, integral fixed bed flow model, and ship model navigation test. In the two schemes, the shiplock is located respectively on the convex bank and the concave bank of the reverse bend in the downstream of continuous narrow meandering river. Moreover, according to the layout of other junctions built or planned to be built with the dam axis on river bend, we discussed the principles in designing the layout of hydro-junctions on continuous narrow meandering river. Data analysis, integral fixed bed flow model and ship model navigation test were employed in the research. It's proposed that as for junctions used for navigation and power generation, the layout of dam axis and shiplock axis should be the focus. For hydro-junctions on continuous narrow meandering river with abrupt bend in the upstream and reverse bend in the downstream, the layout should abide by the following principles: 1. the navigation route should be on the same bank with the shiplock. 2. when the dam axis is in the downstream bend, the shiplock should be on the convex bank.
