Abstract:  Based on the test of end-bearing capacity of piles in debris foundation of a building in Fengjie, the paper analyses the physical character of debris foundation and demonstrates the necessity of performing prototype test, by which one can avoid the hidden danger from undetailed foundation investigation. Herefrom the method for detecting the bearing capacity of a debris foundation is also proposed
