Abstract: Based on the theoretical analysis together with experiment in laboratory flume and physical model, an experiment study on incipient motion and transport rate of the bed load has been conducted in laboratory flume according to the sediment characteristics in Beijiang River. From these results, this paper has analyzed the laws of sediment incipient motion and transport. Non-uniform bed materials and their mutual influences have been accounted by a hiding-protruding coefficient and corresponding expression. Nowadays, the results obtained by many formulas for non-uniform sediment transportation are too difficult to get the same value. This paper has studied the features of bed load transport rate of non-uniform sediment for Qinyuan reach in Beijiang River, as well as established its calculating formula.
