Declaration on Resisting Academic Misconduct

As a member of the scientific journals in the field of hydraulic engineering, the “Journal of Changjiang River Scientific Research Institute” has always adhered to the purpose of “developing hydraulic science, expanding scientific and technological exchanges, promoting the transformation of scientific research achievements, and serving the water and hydropower industry in the Yangtze River Basin.” We adhere to a strict manuscript review system and are committed to publishing high-quality papers with complete content. However, in recent years, incidents of academic misconduct have occurred. In order to respect and protect intellectual property rights, maintain a normal academic environment, and promote the healthy development of academic endeavors, the journal of CRSRI resolutely opposes academic misconduct such as simultaneous submission, duplicate publication, plagiarism, and copyright infringement. We hereby make the following declaration:

All authors must commit to strictly abide by the “Copyright Law of the People’s Republic of China.” The names of the authors should include, but are not limited to, those who have made substantial contributions to the academic ideas, research proposals, or specific research work of the paper.

All authors must strictly comply with the industry standard “Academic Publication Specification: Definition of Academic Misconduct in Journals” (CY/T 174-2019) issued by the National Press and Publication Administration.

Authors should ensure that the content of the paper is not simultaneously submitted or duplicate published. They should ensure the originality of their research work and clearly cite the opinions, data, charts, and research methods of others when used.

For manuscripts suspected of academic misconduct, the Journal of CRSRI will collect relevant information, conduct careful investigations, and if necessary, seek assistance from relevant organizations. Once it is found that the author has engaged in academic misconduct such as simultaneous submission, duplicate publication, data forgery or tampering, plagiarism, etc., we will directly reject the paper and include the author on a “negative list.” The author’s affiliated institution will be informed, and the right to hold them accountable will be reserved.

If authors discover significant errors or deviations in their published papers, they should contact the journal’s editorial department to retract the paper or issue an erratum. If there is no response from the journal after three months of submission, it indicates that the manuscript is still under review. If the author intends to submit it to another journal, it is necessary to contact the editorial department to withdraw the paper. The “Journal of the Yangtze River Scientific Research Institute” implements a double-blind review system, and the submitted manuscripts are checked for duplicate content twice using the Chinese Academic Misconduct Literature Detection System before and after publication. If the similarity rate of a paper is between 10% and 30%, the manuscript will be handled based on the specific circumstances; if the similarity rate is 30% or higher, the journal will directly reject the paper.

The Journal of CRSRI is willing to join authors and readers in resisting academic misconduct, purifying the academic atmosphere, and striving to create a standardized, healthy, and positive academic environment. Authors and readers are welcome to exercise strict supervision, and informants who have knowledge of academic misconduct are encouraged to report such behavior. This journal will firmly and consistently punish and combat academic misconduct.
