Abstract: The traditional supervision and law enforcement of water administration have become less effective, remote sensing technology was applied to detect the changes such as new buildings and water surface profile obtained from aerial remote sensing images , in WanZhou stretch of the Three Gorges Reservoir Area in 2002 and 2006. Meanwhile, with the help of Geographic Information System and Global Positioning System, the spatial information reference system and positioning system can further be applied to provide a basis for supervision and law enforcement of water administration, which has created a new practical application of spatial information technology.
