Abstract: The development of concrete face rockfill dam(CFRD) is rapid，but there are some technical problems to be still researched for building 300 m grade concrete face rockfill dam. On the basis of the behavior of three CFRDs in China and Campos Novos CFRD in Brazil, the authors put forward three questions to need to be solved now on seepage control： first,segregation between face slab and bedding layer；second, the optimization design of material of bedding layer；third, the drainage design problemes of the CFRD. Finally, the corresponding research ways are proposed.
