Abstract: The influences of rubber particle and modifiers on the abrasion resistance of rubber concrete are investigated through tests. With C40 and C50 ordinary concrete as reference concrete, three different sizes of rubber particles are added at six different dosages into concrete in replacement of sand in a same volume. Results suggest that the strength of concrete is reduced by adding rubber particles, but the abrasion resistance increases by up to 9.57 times. The abrasion resistance increases with the increment of dosage and particle size of rubber particle. The optimum dosage is 15%. Moreover, after treatment by modification solutions, the abrasion resistance of rubber concrete increases by a maximum of 60% than that before modification treatment.
