Abstract: To simulate the macro-mechanical characteristics of structural loess and reflect the stress-strain behavior of structured loess, the structural quantitative parameter of loess is defined based on the idea of comprehensive structural potential. A double hardening model for structured loess is proposed by introducing the structural parameters into the double hardening model developed by professor SHEN Zhujiang for normal consolidation soil. The rationality of this model is verified by comparing the prediction results with the test results. By introducing the comprehensive structural potential parameter into the double hardening model, the sensitivity of loess to water is considered in the structural constitutive model, and hence the macro stress strain behavior could be better described.
