Abstract: To research the seismic performance of masonry structure reinforced by prestressed bars, the whole processes of earthquake action on both reinforced and unreinforced masonry structures were simulated by using LS-DYNA software. The analysis results show that prestressed bars have obviously limited the development of cracks, and effectively prevented the precast slabs from being disengaged from the wall. Externally prestressed bars can reduce the lateral displacement of masonry structure, increase its strength and stiffness, and improve its anti-seismic performance. Therefore, it’s of practical significance to reinforce masonry structure with externally prestressed bars.

Key words: masonry structure, externally prestressed bar, numerical simulation, anti-seismic performance
