Abstract: The degree of similarity between the input wave(seismic wave used in the test) and output wave(real shake wave on the shaker) is an important index reflecting the performance of centrifuge shaker table. A new biaxial shaker R500B, installed by China Institute of Water Recourses and Hydropower Research in December, 2010, can generate both vertical and horizontal earthquake waves. Several tests have been carried out to evaluate the performance of the table since its commissioning. This paper presents  the performance of the R500B shaker based on the test data from two methods of evaluating the similarity degree of the input and output waves. The results demonstrate that the R500B shaker has good reliability and can well simulate multiple kinds of seismic waves owing to the installed adjustment module for better transfer function. More applications are expected with R500B shaker in the geotechnical dynamic testing area.
