Abstract

This paper briefly describes the geotechnical testing CT workstations of Yangtze River Scientific Research Institute, as well as the development of ancillary CT triaxial apparatus and infiltration instrument. By introducing the preliminary results of applying CT technology in fabric study of coarse-grained soil, infiltration tests of gravel soil, wetting-drying cycles study of expansive soil, and hydraulic fracture study, as well as and reinforced soil, this paper displays CT image effects of different geotechnical tests, and demonstrates the role of CT technique in geotechnical tests in the hope of arousing the concern of geotechnical practitioners,and hence promotes the development of geotechnical testing.
