Comparative Test Study on Sandy Pebble Soil Static-dynamic Behaviors

Abstract

 On the basis of the static-dynamic mechanics comparative test , by means of test data comparison and analysis on characteristics of deformation and strength of the unsaturated and saturated sandy pebble soils under different test conditions, the test results indicated that: shear displacement is almost the same when unsaturated and saturated soils reach shear failure ; with pressure increase , shear displacement increases ; with vibration number increase , cohesion and internal friction angle decrease ; under different water contents , the strength of saturated soil uniformly increases ; under the same vibration number , and different consolidation stresses , the failure stress is almost arithmetic progression relationship ; but the strength of unsaturated soil ununiformly increases , sometime, the difference is very greatly. The strength parameter of unsaturated soil is bigger than that of the saturated soil.
