Considering the situation of river-net area in southeast coastal region of China, through the analysis of the physical characteristics of soil dredged in river, a new type of dredging machine was innovated and developed, which was manufactured according to the existing experience of design and construction of water resource projects in the area and many times tests. The dredging machine can solve two major issues, i.e. fill material of a dike and utilization of soil dredged from riverbed. Meanwhile, the technology of dredging earthwork construction was also developed as well. The machine has been used to dredge soil in riverbed for dike construction successfully in Tai Lake harnessing projects and achieved great economical, social and environmental effects. And then, it was used in Nanxun river projects and obtained a good result as well.
