Abstract: The evaluation indexes system is established on the basis of atmosphere system, green belt system and hydrologic system. The analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and the comprehensive index evaluation method are applied to establish an evaluation model. The quality and grade of ecological infrastructures of four major cities, namely Yichang City, Fuling City, Wanzhou City and Chongqing main city, in the Three Gorges Reservoir area are studied. The results show that : the quality of ecological infrastructure of Yichang and Fulin lies at a better grade ; Wanzhou and main town of Chongqing belong to a common grade. The integrated quality conditions of ecological infrastructure of these four cities are ranked as the sequence : Yichang , Fulin , Wanzhou , main town of Chongqing, in which the former is better than the latter. The qualities of ecological infrastructure of four cities are understood through evaluation analysis, which provides a scientific basis for the planning and design of cities of the Three Gorges Reservoir area.
