Abstract

The steel-concrete composite structure has been used in high-storeyed buildings and over high-storeyed buildings of civil engineering recently. A variety of node types have been adopted in engineering practices. In the framework design, different kinds of node are commonly assumed to be rigid or hinge joint, which possess different node characteristics. Under certain loading condition, the joint node of beam-column steel concrete are simulated using the finite element software ANSYS. Main conclusions are represented as follows: (1) In the junction of the lower flange in the beam and the reinforced loop of the composite beam-column, a yield area occurs first, and then the zone spreads toward the lower flange of the beam and ventral plate, where the change of stress is distinct. (2) The concrete column is in compressive state basically. (3) Steel reinforcements are forced obviously in the node area and forces decrease gradually along the width of the flange plate.
