Deformability Test Equipments and Rigid Bearing Plate Centric Hole Method

Abstract

The method of traditional rigid bearing plate test for rockmass deformability can t resolve the deformability characteristics problems of layered rockmass. But the elastic modulus of every layer of rockmass can be determined from one test using layered modulus calculation method. Hence, the new method of deformability test for layered rockmass, namely the rigid bearing plate centric hole method, must be developed based on the traditional rigid bearing plate test method, which matches with the layered modulus calculation. The test equipments have been improved based on the traditional rigid bearing plate test equipments. Through the comparison,the following data will be suitable, namely the diameter of bearing plate is 535 mm,the diameter of centric hole is 79mm,the hole diameter of multi-point extensometer is 76mm,and? 4 gauging points should be set. The test method and operation program for the centric hole rigid bearing plate deformability test must satisfy the technology claims of the chapter-sections 6.1 and 10.2 for the pecifications for Rock Tests in Water Conservancy and Hydroelectric Engineering(SL264-2001) simultaneously.
