In order to balance the relation between earth-rock works excavation and earth-rock filling in the construction process of the Nuozhadu Core Rockfill Dam, an optimized mathematical model was established by adopting the linear programming method and in combination with the practical factors during construction. Through the numerical simulation of construction process, the aims of source economizing, cost saving and rationally quick construction attained.
