Abstract

Taking the exploration of hydroelectric projects as an example, authors analyse its actual working flow process, information processing procedure and the current application situations of virtual reality in geological field, and get the conclusion that data management, three-dimensional modeling and virtual reality are three centers i.e. “3C” called by the paper, in the geological exploration at present. The data management is the dataflow centre of all this procedure work, the three dimensional model is the application centre of data analysis of this course, the virtual reality is the exhibition centre of the data and model. The combination and integration of these three centers can provide effective data support and visible space research support in the whole geological exploration.
