Sloping farmland is one of the major sources of soil erosion in Hubei Province, and also a important portion of minor watershed improvement. A slope modified to a terraced field, which is the most widely used sloping farmland measure in Hubei Province, has great advantages, and the shortcomings are also pointed out. The hedgerows technology, a potential technology for sustainable use of sloping farmland, organically combines resource dominance with degradation prevention of sloping farmland, and has bright application prospects in sloping farmland improvement of Hubei Province.
