Skimming Flow Pressure Characteristics on Joint Energy Dissipation of Stepped Dam face & Flaring Gate Piers

Abstract

With the development of RCC technology, the joint energy dissipation of flaring gate pier and stepped dam face has been applied in a lot of hydraulic engineerings. On the basis of the information of experimental test and prototype observation, the paper sums up the law on flow pressure on each step & general steps. As a result, the pressure distributions of each step and entire steps is mainly related to the type of flaring gate pier, the influence of the skimming slope on general pressure is rather small, without any effect with step height.
