Abstract: Juzizhou Islet is located in the middle of Changsha river stretch of Xiangjiang River. Its disordered current status has a strong impact on the ecology and environment of the Changsha City and so this reach urgently needs to be regulated. In combination with river regime analysis and physical model tests, the authors research and demonstrate the possible influence of integrated regulation works for bank line of Juzizhou Islet on the river regime, flood control, important waterrelated buildings etc., and analyze the affect of these works on the environment. Research result indicates that the construction of these works is favourable to the mutual fusion among the islet, water and city, and is easy to form a favorably regional ecology environment, but it will have negative effects on the flood control level nearby the river stretch, the diversion ratio of branching channels, and the local erosion of No.1 Xiangjiang Bridge. In order to maintain the rivers health, the authors put forward the optimized improvement measures for regulated schemes according to the reasons caused by these negative effects, which provide the reference for the determination and design of works.
