Abstract: Shanghai tunnel bridge engineering across Yangtze River is a national, important basic construction project in the estuary of Yangtze River. It adopts a type of tunnel bridge combination, and in the tunnel section, the double deck arrangement is designed to be used for expressway in upside and rail in underside. It is the supreme tunnel bridge engineering in the world at present. On the basis of hydrologic and geological conditions along the engineering zone, this paper expatiates on the geological hazards, such as soft soil deformation, water and soil piping, movement of sands under water, shallow natural gas danger, beach erosion and deposition, sand liquefaction and land subsidence. Through analysing potential harms for engineering and the geological hazards derived from engineering construction, the geological hazard risk is evaluated and the corresponding technological measures and prevention countermeasures are advanced.
