Comprehensive Introduction to Disaster Relief and Strengthening of Earthquake Induced Dammed Lake

Abstract: Earthquake induced dammed lake/barrier bar which is formed by mountain slope gliding in earthquake is the most destructive among the four sorts of barrier lakes/dams. Thirty five barrier lakes/dams possessing a certain scale were caused and formed by the Wenchuan Earthquake of magnitude eight on May 12, 2008. Among these, the extremely dangerous Tangjiashan Quake Lake had become a hanging lake arising from the worlds attention. However, the risk was eliminated on June 11. This paper also makes a general introduction on the normal technology dealing with barrier lake/dam, which is to response the emergency event and remove the dangerous status before strengthening the barrier lake/dam.
