As a kind of inorganic polyaluminosilicate material,a geopolymer has drawn a lot of researchers interests in the world due to itsoutstanding performances. The geopolymer is a kind of promisingly advanced material for its high degree polycondensed network structure and possesses excellent properties，low energy consumption and low toxic wastes emission. So it may beeasily utilized in recycle compared with organic polymers，cements，ceramics and metals. The theory, properties and applications of geopolymer are introduced, and then its development in the future is analyzed.
