By means of an actual example of multi-point video conference system on IP Network of Yangtze River Scientific Research Institute, the paper introduces device selection and configuration methods for scientific research video conference system. From a point of view of technology, the standard of video conference system for the time being is presented, the technological issues to need to be noted in video conference system device selection are analysed. And on the basis of work demand, requests on the communication line and conference security of video conference system are proposed.
