Abstract: With two methods of hydro fracture and borehole strain over coring, geo stresses were measured for the underground plant area of Yantan Hydropower Station, Guangxi. By the comparison and analysis? for the measured information, the results reveal that there is better consistency for the measure achievement of two methods; Yantan Hydraulic Stations underground plant area is in exist middle stress level; there exists tectonic stress characteristic obviously in the underground plant area for the influence of the geo structure; the angle between the orientation of maximum horizontal stress and plant axis is small. So, the geostress field is favorable to the stability of the plants surrounding rock mass; but, its influence is limited
