Abstract

The geological structure of Three Gorges Reservoir is complicated. The major environmental geological problems include reservoir bank collapse, landslides and submergence etc..Besides these, other problems also occur during emigration and construction, for example, foundation backfill with sands and artificially high slope. The authors put forward the disposal scheme, which can be summarized as “all being for the people, landslide safety placed first, disaster prevention preceding treatment and the two of prevention and treatment combined at the same time, initiative intervention and priority in efficiency” on the basis of analysis of the major environmental geological problems.
