Abstract: One representative section in the dam region of Wudongde Hydroelectric Power Station is selected as an experiment and demonstration area. And taking the universal soil erosion equation(USLE) as an appraising model, GIS and RS are used for evaluating all index factors to value assignment, then the volume of soil erosion in the experiment region are estimated and analyzed. The results show that the average soil erosion modulus in experiment region is 6088.58t/(km2·a), which is in the range of intensive erosion. Erosion areas below middle account for 57.91% of the experiment area, but the contributing rate of soil erosion amount is only 8.85%. About 91.15% of erosion sediment will come from that area which is only 42.09%of erosion intensity region, of which 11.53%serious erosion area contributes to 43.83% erosion sediment.
