Abstract: The effects of stress level and loading path on rheologic behaviors of alternating distribution of soft and hard rock layers are in vestigated with triaxial and uniaxial experiments. By using the simulated softwa re FLAC3D, the established model is analyzed with the method of 3 -D visco -elasto-plastic numerical simulation. The results show that, under the same exerting loading level, the deformation and volume of plastic zone of rock mass will be increased with the increase of the number of layers, embedded depths and d eclination of soft rock.
