How to choose the type of remote terminal unit(RTU)in the water conservancy project information collection system is discussed in the paper. Associating with an illustration of Jiangsu Grand Canal hydrologic regime monitoring system, the type and structure of the RTU, its main points of program design and some related problems needed to be noticed are emphatically represented.
